Kizuna (Bond)
Previously, I posted the full japanese version of the lyrics of Kizuna by kat-tun, followed by the romanji version for those who love to sing it out. Today, I got the english translation of that song...
No matter how much we consider the future
No one can see the truth
Something is blocking my blank mind
It's just a mistake that I've been repeating
It's okay for my steps to continue, these hands have separated
Walking away from where you continue to live
Until I become worn out I keep prolonging it
That time, that place, it will never disappear - this bond
In time that flows, I try not to lose anything
Passing by, we collided - true emotion
Permeated my heart, into warm desires
The miracle I requested came about by chance
Even when things couldn't stand still, amidst the pain
I saw the light, because we were bound together
It's okay if you lied, and it's okay to cry
That time, that place, it will never disappear - this bond
It's okay for my steps to continue, these hands have separated
Walking away from where you continue to live
Until I become worn out I keep prolonging it
That time, that place, it will never disappear - this bond

A Personality Test
I had a personality test done recently and the below are the results I gathered.
"I do not give people a good first impression. Basically, I appear to be brash and insensitive. I am a person who feels isolated and bored easily. I have a wide circle of friends as I participate in many areas of my interests but then most are just acquaintances. I am also a person with little ambition.
Thanks to ZCM who did this personality test for me. I must state that there is nothing of him against me, just that I purposely ask him to point out all my negative points.
As for how accurate they are, doesn't really matter because I can't judge myself also. I feel what's more important is the impression I give others.
Firstly, I do not give people a good first impression. I guess I will have to work on that then, to make it better. However, sometimes is also because if I see you for the first time, somehow I bu shuang with your attitude, naturally I won't be bothered about what you think of me also. I must admit that I am very bad at masking.
I appear to be brash and insensitive. I agree I need to work a lot to improve in this area. Most of the time, I just want to get my thoughts or the facts across and neglect about how other feels.
I am a person who feels isolated and bored easily. At first, I thought so too. I don't like loneliness, love crowd and lots of noises! But come to think of it again, there are really times when I just want to be alone. I am bored easily, but luckily most of the time I also know how to find things to entertain myself. I don't need anybody to specially entertain me no matter how good he or she is at doing it.
I have a wide circle of friends but then most of them are just acquaintances. Agree, it is just so hard to make that extra effort to keep in touch with people nowadays. Everybody's so busy with their own stuffs. But its OK. I rather settle for just a few but true friends. I participate in many areas of my interests, most of them are being dragged to by friends or buddies.
I am a person with little ambition. I am a slacker and prefer a simple life.
Haha, Now that you all know my flaws, its not too late to stay away..
Quoted from Alvin Sng, "Mind over matter; If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."

JX> Thanks for the parcel, I will master the character "麗" in no time!
Ferris
Sometimes, when the sceneries are viewed at different angles, different effects are experienced. Different people view things at different angles and have different conclusions. If in doubts, do not rush into a conclusion, take the ferris wheel and get a thorough 360 degrees view. Something new will be discovered, a new feeling...
Thanks for the pic =p

Have been studying for the exams that may never come. UK university lecturers are on still on STRIKE as they are unhappy with their salaries that the university or government are paying them. This means that they will not be setting exam papers, they will not be marking or grading. Today, students gathered to protest against the STRIKE action as they feel that the lecturers should not use them as prawns to achieve their desired salaries. However, as a visiting student, of course I hope that the STRIKE will go on...

To Kill A Mocking Bird
"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view."
"From now on I'll never worry about what'll become of you, son, you'll always have an idea."
"There are ways of doing things you don't know about."
"Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win."
"This time we aren't fighting the Yankees, we're fighting our friends. But remember this, no matter how bitter things get, they're still our friends and this is still our home."
"It's a sin to kill a mockingbird."
"People in their right minds never take pride in their talents."
"It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you being anyway and you see it through no matter what."
"One must lie under certain circumstances and at all times when one can't do anything about them."
"If one went for a walk with no definite purpose in mind, it was correct to believe one's mind incapable of definite purpose."
"Clowns are sad, it's folks that laugh at them. Well I'm gonna be a new kind of clown. I'm gonna stand in the middle of the ring and laugh at all the folks."
"Having a gun around's an invitation to somebody to shoot you. "
"You never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them."
I was introduced to this very fine novel by someone. Above are some of the lines that I really like, and hence picked up. Particularly impressed with the character Atticus, I think every men should aim to be like him. But then again, how many people can really have that sort of lionheart... Another character who caught my attention, Judge Taylor, a slacker always with a conscious of seriousness!
So Near Yet So Far
They seem so near to each other, however... just that thin layer of LCD screen seem to be holding them far far apart.
Thanks JX for the little goodies, and Becky for the card. JX told me the cards you made are the best. Indeed, the best gift I received! I will be back really soon. Party time!
Thanks once again. Super touched! Btw, I am still figuring out if its a cat, tiger or lion. Hmm... I think I will go for a cat.
Miracle
After finished watching H2, I though I was screwed. Still did not manage to find any solution to solve my problem. I gave up and can't be borthered to think about anything else anymore. Then, surprise came (MSN surprise from previous post) all the way from Tokyo. Another surprise also came from Tokyo, which solved my problem. I read the following letter... speechless...
"something sad happened to me... my heart hurts... but whatever
sometimes, the higher u place ur hopes, the harder u'll end up falling
i fell... and it hurts...."
The letter was dated 28 April 2006, but I just received it from the NUS International Relation Office as a softcopy emailed to me. What did it say there?
"About JASSO Scholarship, your student(s) could not be recommended as the recipient(s) because the number of allocation is very limited. We hope you kindly understand the situation."
What's going on or what had went wrong? I couldn't be borthered to find out. First time, I just accepted the fact willingly, without doubts, without questioning. In fact, gracefully...What's my feeling? Am I suppose to feel sad? Am I suppose to cry? I would love to cry! I am... relieve... I suddenly feel a load off my mind... lighter...
What does this mean? - Not only will be back home in late june, but also, back for good. Somemore? Supper with all my kakis. Anymore? All that you can think of, I will ON you. And now, I just don't know how to answer to one person...
1) Graduation delayed
2) Extend an extra semester
3) Scholarship bond
4) Homesick
5) Uncertainty
All the reasons that I can think of, cannot be compared to a present sent from god?? buddha?? Whoever he is, I sincerely thank him so much. If I can't even get the JASSO scholarship that comes without any bonds, what's more to talk about any other that requires me to serve a bond?! I made up my mind this time, submitted the withdrawal letter to Prof Quan as well as IRO.
Is this a sign? I got to see sakura blossom in Washington DC, arriving there at a perfect timing which I didn't plan before hand. The sakura blossom only last for one week plus, and I was there. Probably a sign to indicate that I will not be able to see the sakura blossom in Tokyo, that's why they were right before my eyes in Washington DC.
Is this a sign? A friend in Tokyo suddenly appear online on my msn contact list. Hey, you are going to tour for me whatever that I am going to miss out! yoroshiku ne!
Still back to that song...
Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
Helping you out
Btw, I will still be going back early for special sem. I never give up on something that I have already decided to do, unless I was forced to... by god... or maybe buddha... like the above case... yah rite!
And to that pig in Sheffield, if QY's still surviving, you surely can't fall. My logic!
Freedom VS Security
This is the first time, I am eligible to vote. However, I will not get to vote because I am overseas. I shall comment about it as an outsider point of view. On first thought, I don't see the point of voting because everything is just a wayang show. Before voting you already know who is going to win. But after second thought, I feel there is still a need to vote even though you may think who is going to win.
This is actually becoming a laughing stock to the rest of the world. Quoted from Rockson's blog, "My Malaysian friend say you Singapore gahmen is the Best in the World. Why? I ask him. Your gahmen already more boleh than our gahmen. Make until give bribe for vote also become so high tech and legal! In Malaysia our politician still have to go to the village and give the cash. You Singapore people go to the ATM press a few time, and the bribe go into your bank! And somemore got name! Call Progress Package! Ha haha!!!!" What is corruption then? Is it just a very thin line, or with proper definition, you can just call it legal corruption?
In the States, the government serve the people. In Singapore, the government serve the country, rather than the people. In the States, if a new law or regulation need to be passed, it has to go through the people first. If there are violent protests or objections, the law or regulation cannot be passed. This is about serving the people. In Singapore, all that the government needs to do is to inform the citizens about the changes, rules or regulations. Public transport has to increase. ERP has to be implement. When you buy a housing, you have to pay much more than it is actually worth. The same goes for car, buy a piece of paper before you are entitled to own a car. In many expensive cities like Tokyo and New York City, housing prices are high because of human factor, because of demand, many people want to move to that state and as a result the prices are being jerked up. In Singapore, do we have a choice, unless you are intending to migrate, if not just pay the price. Many more that I am sure you can think of. Why do they have to do this? Because Singapore is too small, without any natural resources, have to stay competitive to other parts of the world. I think the most critical reason is not having any natural resource, as such, the government has to come out with ways to get money, from the people! Only then, they can have reserves for various purposes, the ministers can have high salary, if not, we will be losing talents mind you. Those ministers thought they are definitely worth such a high salary if they were to go overseas for other employment, based on their calibre. We need to pay them well in order to retain these people to serve our country. That's what it is about, serving the country, even at the expense of the sufferings of the people.
But I guess, looking at the limitation and restriction of the country, this is the best way it can be so far. They probably already figured it out, even if they wish to serve the people but any other moves they made may compromise to the survival of the country. In the end, the people will also suffer. We have to protect the limitation that we have. By abusing it, we will bound to have very high risk. Sometimes, its ok to be on the safe zone?
Why do I say we need to vote? I feel that although PAP is more likely going to win, it is not very wise to have too many of them seating in there. They will only get arrogrant. It will be nice to have a portion of opposition seating in there, provided they are really capable and have the heart of serving the people. But if there are some clowns within the opposition, it will just screw up the normality in our parliment. There will be internal conflicts instead of working towards for a better future for Singapore. Hence, not only we need to vote, we also need to vote with responsibility.
To conclude, I am just taking a neutral stand and all the above are purely personal opinions. Weather it is PAP or SDP or WP, as long as they don't 乱乱搞, do a good job can liao. This is just life, a lot of ideal things that cannot be fulfiled... We can talk about freedom, democracy, blah blah blah, but what we really want is just security bah.
Just a quote from JX after discussing about the legal corruption, the best part about Singapore government is as long as they bribe him for every election, who cares. They can yaya papaya showing it to the whole world openly and legally means they are good!
MSN Surprise
I got a surprise from a friend today. This friend is someone who I used to piss off in the past (she also pissed me off most of the time), until I think I was blocked by her on her msn for a long long time. I was in fact stunt, when I saw her appearing online on my msn account again.
Suddenly, things were like back to normal. We started chatting just like in the past as if time has reversed. She has arrived in Tokyo about a month ago. Yes, Tokyo - a place that I am still hesitating about going. She was getting so excited when we talked about her favourite Jpop group, kat-tun and V6. I can really feel her hyper-excitedness even over the msn. Just a quick update for all the kat-tun fans that I got from her, kat-tun finally debut this year, a few days before she arrived in Tokyo. Kame's super big posters are everywhere in Tokyo (just like Ayumi Hamasaki a few years ago i guess), Kame is advertising for NTT Docomo, and she get super excited whenever she saw his posters. I think she may even steal them if not for the fact that those giant posters are on top of buildings. She has also been to the sakura blosom for the first time at Ueno Park, Tokyo. Of course, I am proud of my first time Washington DC sakura blosom too=p Oh yah, talking about this "=p" symbol, she always use this in sms or msn messages, not any other smiley symbol like "=)" or ":)". It has always been this =p face. Haa, today, it is still the same. (But I guess, I prefer smiley faces.)
To i-XXX: "It's just so nice to talk to YOU again!"
By the way, just some history, this girl is my first crush in university. But I never get to chase her at all. Because, before I can even do that, I already pissed her off and ended up being shut out by her. Given her type of character, it was already a miracle that we are still friends again today. 也许是因为对她已经再也没有私心了吧. Of course, I have to admit that in the past, I really came out with a lot of stunts that made her few uncomfortable? And the worse thing, I seem to be repeating my mistake now. Is this just me? Maybe I should just do nothing and shut up.
Got the following from Carol's blog...

二、太自私。
三、不珍惜對方。
四、太小氣。
五、為小事爭執。
六、不懂得尊重。
七、企圖控制對方。
八、不懂得讚美。
九、有問題不溝通。
十、愛對方勝過愛自己
I think I committed number 10, which is a deadly killer!

All the best for job interview today :) ヤリ、がんばれ!
Lightning or Hammer? I may be overseas, but I have been following what's happening back home these few days through updates from melis. My area's actually involving in a fierce fight - Aljunied GRC. What will I do if I am back there? Somebody started selling drinks, maybe i can sell mini electric fans... The following materials are extracted from melis's blog. (all her opinions, not mine ah) How I wish I am back in Singapore at this period to experience the atmosphere... oh man, so interesting. " This is getting outta hand. The news have been showing WP's Gomez video every single day since the issue was brought up. Ot's simply being blown outta proportion. It may be a mistake on his part for not submitting the form (mind you, it's just a minority form, how will it affect anyways??), but I think there has been too much talk about it by the other party. Translating Gomez's action (or inaction) into a show, a scam, a theft and a even a crime is simply outrageous. How can you put two and two together and when there is no link at all? It's starting to backfire. No wonder I can see Ah Low's frustration when he exclaimed "pls lah!" and describing PAP as a naggy old woman who just won't stop harping on the issue. WP has said it all and too bad if people want Ah Low to explain again, I bet he won't want to become another naggy old woman! Pls lah... U think WP will remove/sack Gomez? That would only prove to people that they are afterall submissive to the other party and it would indirectly prove that Gomez is guilty. Please not comments : Photo taken by Yawning Bread at WP rally, Hougang, 30th April 2006.Field report by Yawning Bread here. See I nv bluff you!! Really alotta ple... Captured on my HP... On the tree....(Look hard for the centre of the pix with a faint red circle) On all levels of the multi story carpark (it's not very clear due to the strong lightings) On every level of this HDB Block beside the field! It's not the only one packed. Can't even attempt to get into the lift! Too many peopl crowding... " The above materials are extracted from melis's blog.
Can't these people spend more time on thinking about more impressive policies and come up with something that will benefit the people more? Rather than going on and on about something which is not of an issue at all(at least to me and most of the people I know)? It's indeed wise of WP to just shut up and move on.
To state my point, I think it's best to quote Rockson
"But the PAP and the newspaper and TV all make him look like he rape his mother and sister and steal their money then go and take drug, and then fuck a dog, and then rob a bank and then kick a little girl until she die!!! What kind of fuck thing is this?
Please lah, gahmen got nothing better to whack is it? What national issue is this? They keep say the opposition never tackle national issue, now they themself got so much time to attack one blur fuck who submit form wrongly then never admit early enough."
First say Gomez not honest, then give analogy of him as a thief, next say he's a cheater, samore link his action to a crime. Got so serious or not??? What's next?? May Rockson can give a better prediction...
"Fuck you understand?
So how now? Look for Low Thia Kiang the libary book borrow already never return is it? Never return libary book is mean he cannot be trust mah! Or tell Singaporean that Sylvia Lim last time she park car never put coupon, then the parking auntie come then she run out to put. Aiyo! See that woman also cannot trust!
Fuck you understand?"
For better understanding, the media showed some "pseudo polling cards" sent out by WP to the Joo Chiat residents with the residents' IC and addresses on it to actually ask for votes. First, if wanna blame, blame the election office lah! They sold the residents's name and particulars to WP. And who do you think "owns' the election office? Who should be held responsible then? And then if you are thinking only WP mail the "pseudo polling cards", then you are probably living in a walk-over GRC or one that probably the opposition will not win, cos this is when you don't receive from PAP. But if you are staying in a fiercely contested area, you'll receive from both parties! Oh but the news only shows WP's "despicable acts" lah, of cos.
A lot of ple have been pretty puzzled why I am so interested in this political issue. Simply cos it's interesting! I just can't understand how some people can not even know which GRC they are in, which MPs and parties are in contest, and especially when they are going to vote. U mean you are going to vote blindly? I
f you had been to the rallies, it's even better! Like on SingaporeElections, it says
"Singapore, You're being Oppressed!
Turn off the TV, Dump the Straits Times, Come to Rally!"
It's interesting to hear them talk in dialects, with Ah Low singing his Teochew tune
"天上一只鹅,政府赚钱人民没"
It ryhmes in Teochew. It means "there's a goose in the sky, the government earns but the people doesn't" In Teochew, goose sounds like Goh. Yup you get the point.
Then listen to Ah Goh's rebutt
"新加坡有一条龙,政府赚钱给人民"
It ryhmes in Hokkien, meaning "there's a dragon in Singapore, the government earns money and gives to the people" Ok so you should know who dragon refers to.
I had been to the WP Rally, at Hougang. An estimated 20,ooo attended. From what I saw from my very own eyes, it's probably more. It was damn congested! Jam from very far away, cars cant move around the vicinity and no parking lots left!! It's probably more than any of the free concerts I ever attended! Here's some pix from SG Rally.

"And that's only the central part of the crowd. The swarm was wider than my widest lens."
Some smart ass even made Home made barley and sold each miserable plastic cup for 1 buck each!!! Good mind for making business...
People leaving towards the end...This is walking away from the main crowd. There are still 10s of thousand of ple left... Oh wait a moment, does it kinda make up the number of people in the next pix??

PAP's rally the very next day at the very same venue.
______________________________________________________
I've decided to leave. Will catch up w u guys before I do so. Many are probably clueless abt this... Nvm you'll know when I ask to meet up :D
H2 Whenever I date people, I hate to use the words 不见不散. If that person said 不见不散 to me ah, I just won't turn up on purpose. The next day, if I see that person somewhere else (for example in school), I would said to him, "eh... 我们不是说好不见不散的吗? 我都还没有去负约, 你不是应该在那里一直等我的吗? 不见不散吗... 你切散了..." Very bad... me.
Ok, I am bored. Have been watching this japanese drama H2. Just love to watch Jdrama whenever I feel shitty. Currently, I need a solution to something. QY is always best at coming out with alternatives to various problems, in various circumstances. This time, I am still searching. Everytime I need a solution, I always able to get it through one of the Jdramas. This gives me a good excuse to watch Jdramas yah, of course, not forgetting I still have one legal report coursework yet to be done.
Anyway, I like this scene in H2... this is where this girl, Haruka asked this guy, Hiro for a date. She set a place and time, but later decided to change the venue due to the rain. Instead of calling Hiro's hp to notify him of the changes, she called his house. However, Hiro already left. He went to the meeting place, waited for 2 hours plus and then return home, got the message and rush to the new meeting place. The conversation as follows...
(Shall use the chinese subtitles on the drama la...)
Hiro: 你以为几点了?
Haruka: 还没到12点
Hiro: 先跟你说我不知道地点改了
Haruka: 你在那边?
Hiro: 我打了好几通电话给你了
Haruka: 昨天手机忘了充电
Hiro: 拜托你直接打电话给我好不好
Haruka: 可是我怕你还在睡觉, 不好意思把你吵醒
Hiro: 那又为什么要约9点?
Haruka: 因为约会的时间越长越好
Hiro: 那就叫我起床呀
Haruka (stone.. pause..): 等待也算约会呀
我也希望照片中的男主角是我... 石原さとみ 's so cuteee. Haha, I am in a bit of cranky mood today. Feel so good to dream. What is true, what is false, what is real, what is fake... only in my dream, I can interprete them whichever way I like, my rules! Laughing neccessary means happy? Crying definitely means sad? How many times I just wish to cry out loud... just look at how they enjoy crying...

Envious of their tears...
When is the last time you made someone cry? As for me, very recent! Sorry lin, I forced all your tears out that night... but I bet you feel shiok right^ Before that, I guess you may even have already forgotten... how to cry...
"I like walking in the rain, because nobody knows I 'm crying..."
I really can't remember when is the last time I dropped a tear, maybe since long ago, I already couldn't even afford that. Sigh, what to do?? Eat more spicy stuffs?? Chop more garlic or onions ah???
Sometimes, life is just so ironic that you can't help it but just, sit back, relax and give it a good laugh.
Alanis Morissette - Ironic
An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
And isn't it ironic... dontcha think
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures
Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well isn't this nice... "
And isn't it ironic... dontcha think
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures
Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
In your face
A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic... dontcha think
A little too ironic... and yeah I really do think...
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures
Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
Helping you out
